Assistant Operational Risk Manager

A reputable and well-established Bank is actively recruiting an Assistant Operational Risk Manager for their team in Umm Al Quwain.

The main responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Assist and implement the operational risk management strategy ensuring adherence to both internal policies and external regulations.
  • Conduct qualitative risk assessments for business units to identify potential expected losses.
  • Review vendor proposals and provide feedback.
  • Analyse the efficiency of controls in maintaining acceptable risk levels.
  • Prepare reports and communicate with senior management the key findings, critical issues, and risks.
  • Identify training requirements and conduct training programs for staff.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in operational risk management.

To be successful you will need to meet the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Certification in Operational Risk.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in ORM or process improvement within the banking industry in the UAE.
  • In-depth knowledge of UAE banking laws and regulations.
  • Strong relationship and team management skills
  • Solid risk management experience with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, financial markets, and industry standards.
