We’re working with a leading Pharmaceutical company who are actively recruiting a Quality Control Microbiology Technician to be based in Scotland.

The main responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Perform microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products and environmental samples.
- Carry out environmental monitoring, including cleanroom and controlled area testing.
- Conduct microbial identification and support investigations into out-of-specification and atypical results.
- Prepare, maintain and qualify microbiological media, reagents and laboratory equipment.
- Perform sterility, bioburden and endotoxin testing in line with approved procedures.
- Ensure all testing is completed accurately, within agreed timelines and in compliance with GMP requirements.
- Record, review and report laboratory results in accordance with SOPs and data integrity requirements.
- Support laboratory investigations, deviations, CAPAs and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain a clean, safe and compliant laboratory environment.
- Assist with method validation, verification and equipment qualification activities where required.
To be successful, you will need to meet the following:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Microbiology, Biological Sciences or a related scientific discipline.
- Previous experience working within a QC Microbiology laboratory, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Good working knowledge of GMP and relevant microbiological testing techniques.
- Experience with environmental monitoring, sterility testing, bioburden testing or microbial identification.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately document laboratory activities.
- Experience working within a regulated pharmaceutical or life sciences environment.
- Currently living in Scotland.
